Get Me Out!

Scenario:

You and I are walking in the woods. All of a sudden, I fall through the ground. I have landed in some sort of concrete well. The well is approximately 8 feet long/deep. I have landed in water that is up to my waist but more water is starting to come in. The walls of the well are slippery and I cannot grab anything to get myself out. The car we came in is 3 miles away from where we hiked in. You have no service on your cell phone. There are no other people in the woods to help.

How are you going to get me out of the well before I drown?

Assuming you would be standing would mean some of the distance is met simply by your height. Given the average person is at least somewhere between five to six feet for the most part would mean they only have to reach in three feet or so but surely not eight.

I guess you could pull that rope that you felt like carrying around for what seemed like no apparent reason, tie it to a tree and drop the end into the well so you may use it to climb out of. Hey you wanted a way out and not one that needed to make complete and total sense.

Did you assume I was walking around in the woods naked and barefoot? I thought it wasn't something that needed to be put in the scenario.

See, Jazzy, I read quite carefully before answering and as you didn't mention any injuries, there wasn't much of a challenge:

How am I going to swim my way to the top of the well?

The well is filling with water, per your scenario, as you didn't specify when it would stop doing so I had to assume it wouldn't. Meaning at some point there'd just be an 8ft deep pool.

No, but if you stand and reach up (like Bluezone suggested), I'd only need to reach a foot or so into the well.

If you really consider your clothes to be a large problem (and I imagine you've been trained to swim with clothes on), you could always take them off while the water isn't that high yet.
Honestly, the problem isn't how to get you out of the well, it's how to get you back to the car before you freeze (assuming the current weather).
