I am looking for some tips on how to get new members to sign up at my forum. Your feedback and suggestions will be highly appreciated. My forum is about English Premier League and football fans' opinion will be greatly useful.

Thanks!

That's pretty much it.

Perhaps you could join other forums (that are in your niche) and have an attractive advertisement signature to wear at those forums.

I just advertise the hell out of it, order posting packages and do post exchanges.

promote your forum on promotion forums.

That has to be the biggest dupe ever.

You know who reads advertisement forums? People wanting to advertise their forums.

Know who doesn't read advertisement forums? Anybody else!

You're better off taking Nebulous's advice, or shelling out some coin for Google ads. You'll also want to work on your SEO to improve your placement in search results.

You're adorable.

I'm a member of a community that has over 300 guests online during any given minute of the day, but that doesn't mean that everyone on the site is a person. In fact, the site has been only getting about 30 posts/day.

Numbers mean nothing, broheim. Apply some common sense.

...a lot of our members own their own forums and found us through an advertising forum. :|

Yes, and they join here to advertise their own board. A lot of admins aren't keen on giving their competition increased visibility on their own board. I stand by my earlier post. SEO & traditional marketing techniques are a more reliable method of board growth.

That doesn't bother me too much. People are well aware of our competition, either through us or they discovered them elsewhere on the interwebz.

We're not insecure and (for some reason) a few of our members stick around regardless. You guys rock!

Group hug! :grouphug:

I'd like to add that I go to advertisement forums when looking for a new forum to join. The ones I find in google are all too big for my taste. I doubt I'm alone in this.
