One fish, two fish, red fish, OH GOD WHAT IS THIS?!

Italian man Dino Ferrari reeled in a 280-pound catfish behemoth in Italy's Po River last week, reminding us all that we are but mere mortals at the mercy of otherworldly demons.

Ferrari fought with the beast for 35 minutes before Cthulhu and the Great Old Ones deemed our hero worthy enough to pull victory from the murky abyss.

Here's video of Ferrari holding the demon, seemingly afraid to move lest he suffer the wrath of the ancient creature.

Ferrari released the fish back into its netherwordly home. In exchange, Ferrari gets to keep his soul.

Thoughts?

Holy cow, I've never seen a catfish that huge. So happy he released it.

Catfish never stop growing.

Although such giants are rare, they're not unheard of. In fact, some have made good TV for "River Monsters" with Jeremy Wade.

I remember years ago when I was fishing in the Mississippi River near Burlington, IA a guy just down the bank from us hooked something with what looked like a surf rod that swam UP stream, then turned and went back downstream, then out into the main channel of the river. He was never in control of the fish, and after it almost pulled him in a couple of times, the line broke.

It could well have been something like the above.

Haven't cat fish that huge been known to have killed a few fisher men? Just saying, I've heard stories and watched documentaries on the Discovery Channel. Real messed up shit.

The cat fish in Chernobyl near the power plant have fangs and there's been a few incidents.
