Some suggest that people who are good at sports, are not intelligent.

What do you think about this stereotype?

That would explain the "shut up and ......" mantra the Right loves to throw at athletes.

Never liked watching sports but I did competition kick boxing and was quite good at it.

Football, soccer or baseball had zero interest for me with all the being a team stuff. Never played well with others being a independent person.

I tried to compete in running but my legs were good for kicking people but they were slow as shit for running always ending up last.

Anyways I never thought of people playing sports as being dumb or less smart.

And no it wouldn’t explain the shut up mantra. Can you imagine if every time I went to a home and before doing what I was paid to do I made judgments on Cleanliness of the home, I would be bankrupt very soon. Left or right this is about playing a sport not your political agenda.

That's different; if people aren't willing to own up and face the issues then you should definitely use your athletic platform and thrust it in their face. Let them know, "no, you're not going to ignore this, not on our watch!"

People don't like that? Tough.

It’s not different in the slightest, you are throwing out what you believe in peoples faces when people are paying good money to see a game or spend hours with you in front of a tv.

Use your athletic platform all you want on your own time.
