Have you ever seen people who announce their departure from a forum for whatever reason then not stick to their announcement for long?



How do you feel about this? Attention seeker? Confused member?

This. I honestly don't know anyone that actually ever left...then again, it's hard to get away when you're on the forums I'm on.

When I see threads like this, I usually wont reply to their Im leaving thread but I will welcome them back when they've gotten over whatever it was that was bothering them enough to leave.

I see this often and I just ignore it. Most of the time they just want to see how many replies they get and who is replying. I feel they are just seeking attention.

I think it's funny, i like how they think people will really miss them, but no one really give a shit.

I have, and I always close the threads, because they're normally attention seekers who create a bad vibe on our forums.

There is only three types of people who will ever post in your goodbye topic.



People who don't give a shit



People who don't give a shit but appear to in order to come off as nice



People who can't wait for you to leave for good



There is only two words that could describe such people who post these things and they are annoying pests.

I seen this today on a forum only the person was saying goodbye forever then coming back a few minutes later.. Then saying goodbye again.. It was strange.

I'm thinking the person you're talking about is the person I'm thinking about...and Nebulous, it's not the first time he's said goodbye. I'll give that person a month tops before he comes back.

When people do this on my forum, after they say good buy for the 2nd or 3rd time, I'll suspend their account for a few weeks or so, just to keep them away. It's for their own good mostly, because attention seeking makes you less popular with the staff and members.

I dont know what I would do if people had a history of doing this. Ive only seen any one person do it once or twice.

In the past I just closed the topic as soon as I saw it with a good explanation why. I think it's better to keep the drama and possible flaming off the board.
