Needed some new tunes so ordered some CDs from Amazon earlier this evening.
David Haas- Creating God
Celebrating Our Faith
Tigger Mania
I'm getting Creating God because it has a fair few Catholic songs I grew up listening to in church. Our parish recently introduced a new mass structure which basically means new versions of older tunes. We used to sing David Haas' version of the Gloria when I was little, and that's actually one of my personal faves. A few years down the road, one of our local musicians came out with his own rendition of the Gloria and I actually liked that one as well. A few months ago, we learned a new version of the Gloria and a new version of Holy, Holy, Holy. I love the new Holy, Holy, Holy because it actually sounds like it's sung similar to the main hymn. Not too crazy about the new Gloria though. This one just doesn't appear to be as catchy as the other two versions we used to do. Couple other songs on Creating God stand out as well. Song of the Body of Christ as well as Hear Oh Israel.
I had a copy of Celebrating our Faith back when I was in high school. However, that was one album I listened to constantly (it's actually a 2 CD set) and the first disc skipped quite a bit after a while (unfortunately this was BEFORE I had an iPod) and the second disc I had somehow or other managed to have it broken. I was pissed because the second disc was actually my favorite one. There's a song that's actually the first one on the second disc that had actions to it that we used to do in church as well.
Tigger Mania I had about a decade ago. I'd sold that CD at a yard sale and I really wanted that one, so I got it again. And yes, I am holding on to this copy, because despite the fact that I may be old for Winnie the Pooh, I still love the classics to this day!
