Rockstar Games says a bug in Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V), which affected players' cars, has been fixed.

Last month, developers warned gamers not to park cars in garages because of a glitch that was causing some to lose upgrades or completely disappear.

In a support forum update they said: "This issue was resolved through a title update.

"To make sure you have the latest update, boot the game while connected to Xbox Live or PlayStation Network."

The update continued: "If you do not have the latest update, a download prompt will appear as soon as the game starts."

The launch of the game's online mode had several problems, as players stretched Rockstar Games' servers to breaking point.

Players have faced multiple error messages including: "Rockstar cloud servers unavailable," as well as screens freezing and slow loading times.

At the time, Rockstar Games said it was "working round the clock" to resolve the issues.

As compensation for the issues, it announced that it would offer gamers $500,000 of in-game money.

On its Newswire blog the company said that the special stimulus package would be made available throughout the month.
