Do you have a guest message on your forum? Like this one ^

Does it drive away visitors?

Currently, I just have a small guest message that asks a user if they’d like to join the community. I don’t think it drives users away, but it does encourage them to join.

Well I mean it's supposed to get people to sign up so its not that big of a deal.

I think that It's good that it's there just in case the guest wants to become part of the community

I don't think it's an issue, I don't think it's invasive. It's easy to ignore.

This is what my guest message says.

I have guest's messages but I make sure they are not intrusive and that they lead visitors to the forum where they wish to be when they come on the forum.

I have known some places to have pop-ups that I find intrusive.

If/When I do have a guest message, it usually is a generic "Welcome! To gain full access to this community and participate in discussions, please login or register!"
