This is one of the topics where I wonder about the wisdom of discussing it online given the wind blowing out of various government buildings.

"Well, sir, we have evidence that you posted online two years ago about your collection of military weapons. We'd be less inclined to rip up the floorboards in your house if you just brought them out and gave them to us."

I probably would if I had a farm or something and needed to keep away pests, but I don't see the need in my suburbian area.

People who collect things don't need a "need" for them. They do it because they enjoy collecting that certain item. Guns happen to be the case in this situation. But I don't think we have any gun owners around here.

While it may be said that "guns don't kill people, people kill people", I think it it would be difficult for someone to shoot someone else without a gun.

The main problem with guns is that they are part of the vicious circle of violence. A arms himself, so B feels the need to arm himself with a higher level of arms, so as to get the advantage, then A reacts in the same way & so it goes on.

It is because of this that the U.K. Police are not routinely armed (except for special strike forces only used when necessary). As a result, most criminals have no need to arm themselves, which keeps the rate of Crimes of Violence relatively low.

Is it really that low? I often read about murders and stabbings in that part of the world.

I have such a large collection they will never know if they got them all if the day comes when the government says hand them over. Plus I am pretty sure thats when the revolution begins in America.

Doc is right; there are too many eyes on subjects like this and knowing what I know there is no way I would discuss the number or types of weapons I own, nor what I do with them.

I love to talk about guns, but not on the 'net.

Yes.

Many different kinds.

Yes but not really anymore with the pretty substantial collection I have. More fun stuff like watches and other geeky items.

Just target practice but come from a family of hunters.

Have pulled it but to prevent being a victim.

Go on the gun forums they talk about it and you will not find a more paranoid bunch of people that dont trust the government.

And if you live in a state that is gun friendly more then likely you have a concealed weapons permit like me so its not like the secret is out saying you have a gun on the net.
