Do you think forums should celebrate member's birthdays?

Do you think members should get their very own Happy Birthday topic or should there just be a single Birthday Thread where members say Happy Birthday to <insert name> every time one comes up?

I've finally created a Birthday thread at my forum, and I've also made a guildine for it so that people can only say Happy Birthday to active members. No point wishing someone a happy birthday who's no longer on the forum or is very inactive...

I think there should be a monthly Happy Birthday thread. Simply list the names of members celebrating birthdays that month. After each member name, I would add the day their birthday falls on that month. I would not exclude members who have been inactive. For all you know, they are viewing the forum as a guest. Perhaps if they see you cared enough to add their name to the birthday list, it might entice them to come back and start posting again. That's my 2 cents worth.
