A Super Puma helicopter, carrying 18 people, has crashed near Shetland.
The incident happened west of Sumburgh airport at about 18:20 BST.
The Coastguard said 15 people had been recovered from the sea and three people remain unaccounted for.
Jim Nicolson, rescue co-ordinator for the RNLI, said they were "putting in every effort to maintain the best possible outcome".
