Does your forum have any hidden sections other than the staff lounge? I have a hidden lounge on Free to Be Us for those who joined the forums early. I also used to have a hidden lounge on my old sonic forum too. If you do have a hidden section, what content do you post? Are membergroups post based meaning those with a certain amount of posts can access the lounge? I've been on forums that had post based usergroups before that had access to a hidden lounge.

I have a resource board and I hide the resources for two main reasons; 1.) to entice member registrations and 2.) to prevent guests from ripping the resources.

I have hidden sections because I want to either have my members pay for access or post to gain access. This is not money that will go to me it will go to hosting, board renewals, and apps or mods I want to get.
All that stuff can get pretty expensive! :faint:

I have a couple of hidden forums on Christianity Haven. We have separate hidden forums for men and women (I removed my perms so I can't even see the men's conversation and we have 2 guys on staff who can monitor the activity there) and then I have a forum for some trusted members to get feedback, suggestions, help, etc, concerning the forum.

Ummm, if there is to be hidden section it is either VIP or staff section. But because I am against VIP hidden sections in the early stages of forum, I simply don't have any. It's just that I find it useless for early stages, that's all. All threads and posts should maintain focus on main part of the forum. But even if there is VIP for old forum, what is the idea behind it? Simple chat section is useless..

My big board just has hidden Staff sections, one more Moderators and another for Administrators.

My newest project has no hidden areas. Some forums are members only, but they and the topic titles are still visible to the public to "whet the appetite" so to speak.

I have a few on mine. A couple role play sections where I role play with a couple friends in private role plays (when we just want to do one on one role plays), and obviously the staff section.

We have hidden staff forums and then there's a "board business" forum that's only open to logged-in members, so hidden from guests but all registered users can see it if they log in. But no "VIP Lounge" or anything like that. All the regular discussion forums are wide open.

All is open for everyone that is registered. Registration is required to post, and to see most of the content.

Not on my site. I did see a writing community have a section known as player versus player only after I joined years ago. It was basically a call out section for members to air grievances but it was a toxic cesspool. I think they ended up getting rid of it but damn.

When I had a forum, I had no hidden sections due to my beliefs because I don't like elitism.

Most forums have a staff area that the regular members and elite members aren't able to see for obvious reasons :p
