Adolf Hitler apparently relied on a stunning array of drugs while ruling Nazi Germany, including one made popular by the show Breaking Bad: crystal meth. According to a 47-page US military dossier, a physician filled the Fuhrer with barbiturate tranquilizers, morphine, bulls' semen, and a pill that contained crystal meth, depending on Hitler's momentary needs, the Daily Mail reports. By this account, Hitler downed crystal meth before a 1943 meeting with Mussolini in which the Fuhrer ranted for two hours, and took nine shots of methamphetamine while living out his last days in his bunker. The dossier's allegations will be considered in a British TV documentary this weekend calledHitler’s Hidden Drug Habit, the Times of Israel reports.

Just who was Hitler's dealer? Named Theodor Morell, he succeed as a Berlin doctor despite his unconventional methods and controversial past. Revelations that he had treated Jews hurt his business in 1933, and many thought he appeared Jewish; Hitler's inner circle disliked both his appearance and his practice, according to the Times. A US collector who found the dossier also criticized Morell, calling him "a quack and a fraud and a snake oil salesman." Yet Hitler trusted him until the Nazis fell in 1945. Hitler's use of other drugs, like cocaine and methamphetamine, has already been documented—the International Business Times mentions two documentaries that cover it—but his apparent addiction to 74 drugs, including crystal meth, adds to the portrait of a hypochondriac ruling Nazi Germany while high.

Hitler and Eva Braun ‘had sex without touching each other or taking their clothes off’ because he was so fanatical about hygiene, claims author Martin Amis

Novelist believes German dictator was an asexual and may have been insane
He made the claims in talk at Cheltenham Festival of Literature yesterday
Amis also claimed Hitler may have had sexual relationship with half niece
Had been doing research for his second Nazi-era novel 'Zone of Interest'

Oh, and then there was this:

The German Workers’ Party, which became the National Socialist German Worker’s (Nazi) Party in February 1920, was founded on January 5, 1919.[1] The German Workers’ Party was the creation of the Thule Society, an extreme-right, Aryan-theosophical organization that had been founded in July 1918; its first meeting occurred in Thule Society offices.[2] Hitler, who was serving as a political spy for the German Army in Munich, entered the German Worker’s Party to determine whether it was a leftist threat, or whether it could – as his superiors in the Army hoped – serve as an opponent to the new, liberal regime in Germany. Soon – as early as August-September 1919 – he gained notice as a mesmerizing speaker with the ability to mobilize the masses for counterrevolution. By March 1920, he had become “indispensable” to the Nazis.

At this time, Hitler received critical assistance from Dietrich Eckart, an anti-Semitic, occultist playwright and journalist.[3] Part of this help included “lending him books” and “helping to improve his German – both written and spoken.”[4] Eckart, a member of the Thule Society with connections to the Army, also introduced Hitler to wealthy and influential residents of Munich; they then began supporting Hitler and the Nazis. Eckart also helped to transfer funds from Henry Ford to Hitler and the Nazis; Ford’s 1920 anti-Semitic book The International Jew inspired what Hitler wrote about the Jews several years later in Mein Kampf.[5]

Several other Thule Society members – Rudolf Hess, Alfred Rosenberg, and Hans Frank – became Nazi leaders and had key roles in the Third Reich. The Nazi choice of the swastika symbol was influenced by the Thule Society’s example. Hitler was already an anti-Semite before 1919, but his tutelage from Eckart and Rosenberg accentuated this – to the point that by 1922, Hitler told an associate that “if I one day actually come to power, then the extermination of the Jews will be my first and most important task.”[6]

With financial help from Eckart’s friends, the Nazis bought the Thule Society’s newspaper, the Volkischer Beobachter, in December 1920. This became the Party’s official paper, and continued publishing until the fall of the Third Reich. Eckart, who had regarded Hitler as his own protégé, died on December 26, 1923, soon after the failure of the Beer Hall Putsch. (According to one source, Eckart said on his deathbed, “Hitler will dance, but it is I who play the tune. … Do not mourn for me, for I will have influenced history more than any other German.”[7]) When Hitler published Mein Kampf – which became the Nazi “bible” – in 1925 and 1927, he dedicated the second volume of the book to Eckart; Hitler described Eckart as “that man, one of the best, who devoted his life to the awakening of his, our people in his writings and his thoughts and finally in his deeds.”[8]

People seem to have made a hobby out of accusing Hitler of literally anything. I give it a century or so before he's some sort of demigod.

Believe it or not, most of the 'accusations' have been true. Some are slightly exaggerated, but only slightly.

Did they have "breeding farms" for Aryan babies? Yes.

Did they conduct radical experiments with both technological apparatus and with humans and, on odd occasion, combine the two? Yes.

Was the ranking officers of the SS and the party deeply involved with all sorts of occult weirdness? As we saw earlier in this thread, Yes.

Did the SS stop trains and trucks of supplies needed by front line units to make mass deportations of 'undesirables' to the death camps easier, which may have turned the tide of battle in favor of the Russians on the Eastern Front? Yes.

Were the Nazis in communication with spirits of various dead Seers and / or aliens from Outer Space? With the dead, they thought they were. With Aliens, they very well may have tried.

I watched a documentary back in school about Hitler and there was a section in there on a doctor who injected him with metamphetamine to treat his Parkinson's disease.

From 1942, the Nazi leader Adolf Hitler received daily injections of methamphetamine from his personal physician, Dr Theodor Morell. The Führer was also familiar withcocaine. Hitler's ailments have been attributed to everything from tertiary syphilis to Parkinson's disease. But many of The Führer's clinical signs and symptoms may have been caused by his exotic drug regimen.

In Hitler's Wehrmacht, methamphetamine tablets branded as Pervitin were liberally distributed to German fighting troops throughout the War. Amphetamines are "power drugs" that reduce fatigue, heighten aggression, and diminish human warmth and empathy.

How could Hitler continue to exert such a grip on the German people until the last days of the War? Talking to a prison psychologist while awaiting trial, ex-Governor General of Poland Hans Frank (1900-1946) describes Hitler's charismatic effect on him...

"I can hardly understand it myself. There must be some basic evil in me. In all men. Mass hypnosis? Hitler cultivated this evil in man. When I saw him in that movie in court, I was swept along again for a moment, in spite of myself. Funny, one sits in court feeling guilt and shame. Then Hitler appears on the screen and you want to stretch out your hand to him . . . . It's not with horns on his head or with a forked tail that the devil comes to us, you know. He comes with a captivating smile, spouting idealistic sentiments, winning one's loyalty. We cannot say that Adolf Hitler violated the German people. He seduced us."

*dusts off thread*

Saw this in the Similar Threads area below another thread elsewhere on the board and it caught my eye.... :o :o
Now that I think of it, who knew Jazzy Cousin It had a German relative?

I heard lots of the worlds terrorist dictators were on hard drugs like crystal meth. They were all out of their minds.

I think it is lowkey hilarious that the thread claims Breaking Bad popularized crystal meth.

Well some people actually think that BB "invented" crystal meth :P
