Homegrown Coffee Beans?

I have known a neighbour when I've still lived in my parents' house, who's had lands of homegrown coffee beans. I mean, that would save on a lot of coffees from outside no? And you personally? What do you think of it in your opinion?

I think that it would not grow well in this climate.
And...for me, the ends would definitely not justify the means. I have even had problems this year growing a few tomatoes.
