I think anybody who's homophobic is irrational.
Most of they time they avoid people who they assume are gay, and it's quite likely that they're not. It's actually likely that their best friend is gay. What a shocker.
It's a silly thing. People who are afraid of homosexuals need a slap in the face.

I mean I know a lot of homophobes. And yeah I agree they're pretty stupid. Here's my logic, I give everyone a chance until they prove to me that they don't deserve one anymore. I don't care if you're gay, black, white, asian, whatever you might be if you're nice and fun to talk to then you're a friend in my opinion. I hate people who tend to be very judgmental. All it does is limit the people you could meet and be friends with.
I don't see any debate here as there is no rational or logical reasoning one could give for why being homophobic is a good thing. It's obviously dumb and stupid to treat everyone of a certain sexual orientation negatively simply because there sexual orientation is different from yours.
I'm not a homophobe. I have nothing against gay people and I even gay people in my family. So it would be kind of hard.
I know a few homophobes and I have nothing against them. If they choose to dislike people who do things that they find immoral or disgusting then that's their choice. Thats only human nature.
Not everyone is going to be supportive of gay people just like not everyone is going to be supportive of murderers, people who wear fur, people who wear baggy pants, etc, etc, etc. We all have the right to dislike qualities in other people and we all have the right not associate ourselves with people who do things we dont agree with. That doesn't mean that we should treat anyone with disrespect though.

I agree that people do have a right to be that way but many who are homophobic will lash out not only at those who are homosexual but at those who do not hold the same opinion of homosexuals as they do and that's where I draw the line. You have the right to an opinion but you do not have the right to force it onto anyone else.
Homophobia is a bad thing, but of course everyone has a right to thier opinion. But homophobes tend to be real jerks or so it sounds. Maybe one day there will be less than 1% of homophobes in the population, I mean there will always be someone who doesn't like something. It is impossible for everyone to like the same thing, but possible for most to like something. Therefore it is impossible that there will be a day where there aren't any homophobes, but of course that also means that one day there could be as little as a hundred of them.
