Hello there!

When you are making your community, and you are hard at work, and when you are almost done, how do you find your staff? Do you scour your friends to see who would join or do you look around on forums?

I'll almost always hire internally if I can. If it's a new forum and I NEED staff, I'll of course look elsewhere but I'm becoming more and more of the mindset that I don't need staff and prefer to work on a forum alone for as long as I can. Too many people take on staff jobs and don't stay committed - I've been guilty of it too - and it's much easier to only have one person to rely on, myself.

I've never had to.

Would probably recruit people from the community.

If my forum was brand new, I would put an announcement Looking For Staff. I would have a short form they would have to fill out with such things as their experience and how many hours they could devote to the forum.

We have an application process that people have to go through. On my new site we're just picking people we know can do the job and whom we can work with, but in the future we'll do a proper process involving trials etc.
