What is love? And how do you separate it from infatuation?

Infatuation tends to be more like an intense sentiment of an unrealistic idea of love which is really more like taking drugs, a euphoric passion one feels toward another person that can lead a person to do reckless things because of how fierce the feelings are. Love is different in that while it can be an intense emotional experience, it tends to be more rational. It builds a bit more slowly over time whereas infatuation comes on hard and fast, like being hit by a bag of bricks you are blindsided and swept away. Love blossoms and leads to better results of partnership and commitment. People tend to mix up the two, especially younger people who don't understand what their intense feelings mean.
