Does music have the power to change your mood? How does music affect you?

Yeah some music (like 80s music) gets me pumped up. I'll listen to it while cleaning the house or working.

Listening to my favorite soundtracks made me feel a bit better. Music of any kind no longer affects my mood in any way.

A soundtrack is recorded music accompanying and synchronised to the images of a motion picture, drama, book, television program, radio program, or video game, but that doesn't matter now. And don't call me Shirley! :p

I meant to say, what soundtracks did you listen to?

I have issues with dysthymia (persistent depressive disorder) and anxiety, so when my mood drops and I get really bad, I actually listen to music that's equally depressing, tragic, etc. and it makes me feel better, it levels me out. It sounds counter-intuitive, but it works for me! Songs about suicide, about despair, about hopelessness, I listen to all of that and more and it makes me feel less alone, less depressed.
