This sine wave extends from 20hz to 20,000hz — the full range of ideal, undamaged human hearing. See how you stack up. We recommend using something other than earbuds, as they often can't reproduce tones on the far ends of the spectrum.

So, how did you stack up?

My speakers claim to range from 80Hz to 18kHz, but I can hear something starting around 60-70Hz. I don't hear it anymore at around 15kHz.

I can hear up to about 18KHZ (up to 18.5 depending on the test), although my hearing comprehension is very poor. That's unfortunate considering that I work in the restaurant industry, but I make it work. :P

I was wondering have you people taken some kind of hearing test to know your hearing capacity in Hz? I can can hear well, but do not know in Hz.

I have done a little test before when I was at school But that was about 11 years ago. I stopped being able to hear the frequency long before any one else. However both of my eardrums collapsed about a year before then so I lost alot of my hearing. I don't think all the loud music I listen to helps either.

Oh my goodness, how did that happen?

Ear infection I think from a dirty swimming pool, Kept going to the doctors and they kept fobbing me off with different antibiotics which did nothing, One day they both collapsed, I remember trying to scream for my mum (I was upstairs) but I was in so much pain no sound would come out of my mouth, I had to make several loud bangs to get mums attention.

No doctors would come out as it was to late, so dad took me to the nearest walk in center, the doc asked my mum why the hell didn't the doctors at our practice send me to the hospital months previous. Got rushed there that night, where a rather horrible chinese doctor rammed 2 tiny bits of something wrapped in cotton wool in each ear - without any painkillers or sedation. I screamed the place down! Mum had to leave as she was too upset to hear me like that.

Think I was 14 or 15 at the time.
Took months to clear up and heal properly.
