How many moons does earth have? Z generation could be dumber than millennials

This is why I don't sit in conference with Trump lunatics who love to spread misinformation and you're one of them.

*looks over at both @NerdiestKen and @WHO IS SERAFIN* Y'all want a room somewhere?

That said, every generation gets looked at like they're idiots; its' just with social media as prevalent as it is, everyone knows about it now.

Come on! How many moons do we have. How many states. It’s video after video the most retarded Z generation should be able to answer these most basic questions. Our school system is one big massive failure. We’re probably getting 20 maybe 30 percent of a generation going into the work force that aren’t morons.

Funny video but they just edit out all the right answers and cut together a video with dumb answers.

Remember Jay Leno's "Man on the Street" segments?
Same shit, different video here.

And you know this how? Even if true and let’s say it is people still couldn’t answer questions that children in the 60s and 70s knew by 1st grade they don’t teach anymore.

Look up what elementary kids were taught in schools in the early 1900s, it’s pretty damn impressive between math and literature that I bet maybe 10% of high school kids couldn’t pass today. Maybe tonight I’ll look it up.

I'm a 1991 elementary & 1996 grad, I'd watch that mouth if I were you. Do you even have proof that the school system a "failure"? I think not, so take a nap.

Lol well to be fair to them, being asked while recorded makes it a lot more of an anxious experience. If you are recording me, you could ask me what my name is and I wouldn't know the answer :dontknow:

When i was growing up. Pluto was a planet... But stuff just gets changed when we ourselves don't even know what it is...
Do i know how many moons we have? Yes. Did i learn that in school? Probably. Do i need that piece of info in my educational upbringing? Probably not.
Would i sacrifice things in my educational history such as trigonometry and some geography, history and more rsndok stuff like pi for stuff that's actually to do with real adulting? Yes.

Stuff like organising finances, filling out tax forms. Applying for jobs and mortgages. Basics of running a buisness. Debate skills and not being offended of other's opinions/views.

There is plently more but my point essentially is i don't think knowing how many moons earth has and if it's taught in schools, is a great way to know how educated a generation is or if that knowledge is even needed/preferred.

Congrats? So?

Ok, so the topic which some people can’t stick to. The dumb kids were turning out.

Quote:
More than half of city public school students still don’t have a basic grasp of math and English, according to the latest round of state test results released Wednesday.

Overall, 46.7 percent of kids in grades 3 to 8 were proficient in English and just 42.7 percent in math, according to the data.

Now the why!

20 REASONS WHY THE AMERICAN EDUCATION SYSTEM IS FAILING

1. Parents are not involved enough. Time spent in the classroom, not enough for educators to instruct every learner, to teach them what they need to know. There must be interaction outside school hours. Of course, learners at a socio-economic disadvantage often struggle in school, particularly if parents lack higher levels of education. But learners from middle and upper-class families aren’t off the hook. The demands of careers and dependence on schools put high-income kids at risk, too, regarding the lack of parental involvement in education.

2. Schools are closing left and right. It’s been a tough year for public schools. Several have found themselves on the chopping block. Parents, learners, and communities generally feel targeted, even if school board members cite unbiased numbers. There is no clean way to declare a winner in these cases, either.

Sometimes, a school closing is inevitable, but we should first look for other solutions. Instead of shutting down public schools, districts should consider other community uses, such as a community center or adult education classes. Closing schools should not be a flippant procedure. The decision should focus on the one investment that matters: a quality public education for all our nation’s children.

3. Our schools are overcrowded. The smaller the class, the better the learner experience. A research study by the National Center for Education Statistics found that 14 percent of US schools exceed capacity. When children need more attention than ever to succeed, overcrowded classrooms make it even tougher to learn and tougher for educators to be effective.

Life is to short for naps.

FWIW, that's point is mostly on target.

The problem, though, is that, instead of working with schools (finding a balance, so to speak), they've become back-seat drivers trying to take over the whole process and wrecking it if they don't get their way.

Yeah I disagree. Those are the few involved parents that have made positive changes for a collapsing school system.
