How much personal information do you give out on forums?

Your email? Real full name? Phone number? Address?

Email address that I use for forums only.

Not too much. I give out my first name, e-mail address and vague location (state), and that's about it.

I always give out my email address. Most people know my full first name and a few people know my last name because it was on Skype at one point, but it's changed now. As for location, people know what state. Three people that I trust have my cell phone number - 2 of them being the admins on the forum that I'm a manager on and we all three have each other's numbers in case something happens to the forum.

Not too much.

I don't think I've ever even hinted at my name

You might know what country I live in, it's not a secret per se.

Michael Valentine would know the most if he didn't forget stuff

I try to limit it.

Things I post anywhere would be my name, age, and vague location (state). I don't post my personal e-mail usually, I can't remember if it's disabled on here lol

I've told people enough information for them to find me, though lol. I've told two people my city, and given enough hints about my school for them to find out what school I go to. I don't plan on giving any more, though.

Never will give out first or last name. Only one person on the Internet knows my last name, and that was by an accident (my e-mail, I e-mailed her with my personal email and I forgot when you get it it shows my first and last name).

I have emails for forum people.. Anyone can have those. I have a personal email (for family) and one for work. Nobody can have those.

As for my real name & address, I have fake ones for the internet.

Unless of course I was buying something of amazon.com or something. I'd have to give them my real address so the packages can make it to my house.

I use my real first name, but that's about it. I do have an email address that I use specifically for forums that I don't mind giving out, but I don't go any more personal than that.

Very minimum ... I've learned from watching what can happen online.

I wrote here recently about one of my friends who innocently befriended someone who turned out to be a psycho. He tried to shake her loose, but she wouldn't go away. She proceeded to post much of his personal information on a huge discussion board. She stalks him still. Sick.
