i'm tommy tooter, the whistle blower, native to chicago, illinois, now resident in austin, texas.
as one of the elders of the second generation of the merry pranksters, i've gained a bit of notoriety in the indie music and arts festival-for-a-cause community that saved me when i found myself a life scientist in a death culture and i ended up in the first wave of homelessness during the reagan years when the funding for biochemical research dried up. i have a degree in marine biology from the university of tampa in 1978 and by the mid-80's all the money available for jobs had been diverted to defense.
i've been online posting news and entertainment media from the indie webs into these discussion forums since 1998. i get trolled pretty hard by extremists of the left and right wings and it's a troll that led me to this site. i'd rather not say who it is because i'm sure he'll reveal himself to you all in due course.
i make my living now in the arts, completely independent and self-employed. well, not completely. the government declared me unemployable and gives me disability benefits but that's not a living wage. i'm a woodwind player and i cut and mount stone. you can see some samples of my work here: http://s1104.pho...27/TommyTooter/

i've been participating in occupy austin since the first day but caught a criminal trespass warning at city hall early on, so i haven' t been very active or visible since last november.
i'm not sure what you folks like to talk about yet and probably won't post much until i meet a few of you and get a better feel about this community's mindset.
