Were you ever taught a proper handshake?

When I took speech class in high school, the teacher showed us how to properly shake ones hand. She went around testing us to make sure we weren't limp fishes or grasping too tightly and that we did the 3 bounces. I still fail at the 3 bounces, but I have a decent grip.

I saw that Trump did the over-dominant handshake with Trudeau this week LOL

I was taught a long time ago, but I fail consistently, lol. Step into, firm grip, don't crush the fingers, all the fun stuff, but I always end up doing something wrong and making it an awkward handshake :D

Change to the fist bump?

Odd, we were talking about this in the office before i logged in. LOL

Anyway, i was never taught the "way" but i always have eye contact and a firm shake, sometimes twice but never 3 times, for us is like too much.

My handshake is weak. I do not like touching people nor do I like people touching me so I guess I never got into the habit of doing handshakes. I always bow or say hello instead.

I usually avoid shaking hands.

When I have to, I do. I use a normal grip and let whoever dictate the rest.

When another guy starts squeezing my hand with that stupid grin many of them have, I make them regret it.

You're not going to impress me with your masculinity. Once upon a time I interviewed Mike Hall, billed as "the world's strongest drug-free man".

and
The 380-pound giant has won eight national and three world titles. His records include, dead-lifting 815 pounds, lifting 925 pounds while squating and bench-pressing 630 pounds.

So why are you squeezing my hand so hard?

And, oh, by the way, I've been working, and exercising regularly, for YEARS.

When I have a mind do, I can exert over seventy five pounds of grip force, measured, with my right hand. And when I really want to, I can sometimes get that close to 100.

Let's see who tries to release the handshake first, shall we.... punk.

I never really thought about it, but I guess a normal handshake, maybe a light one, not too firm, but not hesitant either. I don’t particularly prefer handshakes, but I usually don’t think about it until the other person offers one or the situation calls for it.

I'll go in for a shake and adjust to the other person's grip.
