Almost everyone in the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl hockey team have lost their lives in a plane crash, after the plane crashed into a tower mast in Tunoshna Airport as it was taking off. Amongst the 43 fatalities, amongst them were top Russian and European players and only two survived the horrific accident that were Alexander Galimov and Alexander Sizov, with the former suffering from severe burns. The event has been said as the darkest day for the whole country and for the sport its famous of. More information here.

This is nearly as tragic as the plane crash in Poland that happened last year, taking all the lives of politians on board including the president.

I'm afraid I have some more bad news... Alexander Galimov who was one of the few survived from the plane crash, has died from the injuries he sustained from the incident (as he had severe burns). More information here.

Now, Alexander Sizov is the only survivor and is out of danger, as he's making a full recovery from hospital.
