Greetings Off Topix Citizens,

We have decided to add some forum icons to jazz things up around here a little bit.

You'll see them on the left hand side of a forum:

We have also done away with the left-hand column of read/un-read icons. If new posts are in a forum, you'll see a little icon that says "New" next to the forum name.

Also we have made a few minor adjustments to our forum structure:

1) Animal Corner is no longer a sub-forum of Life and is now its own forum, located in the Lobby category.

2) Internet & Technology and Science are now separate forums. Science is a brand new forum located in the Creativity category. Sub-forums Health & Medicine and Astronomy & Space are now located in the Science forum.

3) Moved all topics from the "Internet" sub-forum back into the Internet & Technology forum and then deleted the "Internet" sub-forum.

4) "Biology & Medicine" has been renamed to Health & Medicine

5) Video Games is no longer a sub-forum of Internet & Technology and is now it's own forum, located in the Media category

We hope you like these updates and let us know if we can do anything else to help make Off Topix an even better place.

I really like the icons, I had these on my forum too but is it possible to get rid of this http://prntscr.com/1w4hta ? and just have the new icons?

...but those let people know if there's new posts in a forum or not.

Looks bad though.. in my opinion, people can just do 'New posts' to see new posts. ;)
 
I think it looks good with them there, but that's just one Nebulous's opinion. :P

Short version - Prefer the text alone, but whatever.
