I tryed installing a mod on my forum and it's really caused some problems..

I mean between the stupid Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}' in /home/luigi/public_html/cache/tpl_prosilver_viewtopic_body.html.php on line 68 error and not being able to access my forum's topics and such.

I am depressed... I can't access my forum and various other things..

My life is down in the dumps now

Ask a friend who knows what they're doing to help you out. There's no shame in asking for a bit of help.

And if you aren't feeling well, do something that you enjoy. Sing to your favorite song (no matter how bad you sound). Take a nice long hot bath to relax yourself. Physical exercise is also a great way to relieve stress and make yourself feel better.

Its just a forum. Its not the end of the world. You'll figure out something.

Did you make backups of all the files you modded as well as a database backup? If so, just restore the original files etc.

If you didn't make backups, then you have just learned a valuable if somewhat harsh lesson.

What mod was it you tried to install? Please supply a link to the mod.

I'm little less depressed now, that I'm able to access my forum's topics and such again.

The depression came back..

Some guy on a forum I frequent said this:

Luigi1632:

No, you can't. And I hope you fucking get banned because you're an annoying little git with a horrible avatar, an even worse sig, and the brain of a goat.

Really, you're an annoying, horrible person and you should retreat to IM for about four years until you find ANOTHER community (READ: NOT THIS ONE) that will accept the hopefully better you.

I also predict a possible divorce in your future and guaranteed mother-child relationship issues that WILL escalate to physical violence; if she attacks you, attack back. my only regret is not kicking enough people's asses.

Perhaps if you were nicer to people on forums, you would not get that sort of treatment.

No, I was just mentioning my forum in a status and not even with the intention of advertising and everyone gangs upon me...

You will have nasty things said to you - everywhere. It doesn't matter if it's online or in person, or behind your back. You just need to ignore them and continue to treat them the way you want to be treated yourself.

*falls to the ground in a depressed mood*

Maybe you should find another hobby. It's pretty sad that you are getting depressed over something that happens online. Get over it and move on. It's not the end of the world. If you get depressed for something as small as that, I'd hate to see you when you grow up.

I can understand the depression over stuff happening with your forum. I've had similar happen to me before. For the idiot who flamed you, however, if it is just him, perhaps you should avoid him, and if it was a lot of the regulars who 'ganged up' on you, perhaps it is time to find a new forum to visit. I've only found a few forums who I've been completely comfortable in, and the rest I don't ever visit anymore.

If I were you I would just leave the forum scene. It seems like every thing makes you depressed. Go find another hobby that makes you happy.

A young lad of 15 shouldn't be bloody depressed, so unless there's a very good reason not to, fuck the forums, get off of your arse, get out of the house and away from the damned computer Then, go and do what normal 15 year olds do and hang out with yer mates and have a laugh.

Oh, and stop feeling sorry for yer self.

Ah, damn it.

Now I need to replace my computer's battery >

Forums are just forums. They shouldn't be part of your everyday life. Sure, I've been criticized by other members in mean ways as well, but I never let that get me down. Oh sure, there were times when I was close to letting it get me down, but it never got that far in the end. I hope you feel better soon, Adler (had to look up your username to know how to spell it). I gave up my forum because of this and other reasons, and I am seriously not sure if I want to try another one or not. If I do try another one, it's going to be on an easier to manage software like MyBB or SMF. I know when I tried forums before, I just let my self get too frusterated and ended up quitting, and this last time around, I ended up giving my forum over to someone else. Thankfully it was someone whom I trusted this time. Hope you feel better soon.

There are several things you can do or you can do next time.

To fix this mod, try contacting teh author of it via e-mail or other contact methods, second you can ask support on webmasters forums like The Admin Zone or on FP, there can help you out for sure. Also next time take a backup of your forum and datebase before doing any implents to it.

About real life, a depression can be hard to get out to. First try to find what is causing the depression, why did I allow it to get me deppressed and then ask yourself should I do something new for a change ? Maybe something that gives your life a bit fire, like travel to Spain or Italy if you live Europe, go to a pool. Start to join a sport club, interact with people, etc ....

I've been depressed before (both as part of my mental illness and just regular depression). I'm told that vitamin D is good. Just 15 - 20 minutes in the sunlight (w/o sunscreen) will give you that vitamin D. If you don't want to be outdoors, then open the shade up and stay near a window for 20 minutes. Also, taking Fish Oil (which I do) on a daily basis can help reduce some depression and even mood. I use it to boost my good cholesterol (HDL) but it has benefits on mood too.

Well the only thing that's making depressed now, is a lack of members on my forum.

Aww. Heres a hug:
