Should governments in rich countries relax the laws controlling immigration?

Well maybe they are rich because they dont let anyone in to drain their economy.

what exactly do you mean by a rich country? just so that we all understand what you mean.

We here in Australia have had a lot of people coming in buy the boat load from other countries i think there was 80+ last year, i may be wrong.

I don't want to seem racist or anything, but i think they should just go back to their own countries and stop trying to illegally get into other countries, development in this country is growing as it is and we really don't need even more people coming in and living here when they are not supposed to be.

But the government (Kevin Rudd's Party) seem to think it's good to have all of these potentially dangerous people in the country, the first few boat loads coming in this year have had people who were a security risk and yet they still send them to Christmas Island.

I personally think it's pathetic, send them back where they came from and go through the proper rules as everyone else does to get into a country.

good point. I really appreciate the manpower from foreign countries but do it legally.

Everyone has the right to visit, live, work, and study in almost any country on Earth, and that's the way it should stay. It gives you a greater understanding of other cultures when they're brought right to your doorstep.
