Fountain County: Yesterday afternoon, at 2:30 p.m., Trooper Millburg was patrolling Interstate 74 near the 20-mile marker. Trooper Millburg observed a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix traveling eastbound, missing one of its tires and traveling on the rim. Trooper Millburg stopped the Pontiac for speeding and a registration violation. The driver was later identified as Anthony Hayes, 39, from Indianapolis, IN.

While speaking with Hayes, Trooper Millburg observed signs that criminal activity might be afoot and smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. After a search of the Pontiac, Trooper Millburg located suspected marijuana.
Trooper Millburg was also able to develop information to believe that Hayes was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Hayes was then transported to Fountain County Jail.
Arrested and preliminary charges:
  • Anthony Hayes, 39, from Indianapolis, IN.
  1. Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated – Endangerment – Class A Misdemeanor
  2. Driving While Suspended – Prior – Class A Misdemeanor
  3. Possession of Marijuana – Class B Misdemeanor
  4. Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated – Class B Misdemeanor
Trooper Millburg was assisted by other troopers from the Lafayette Post and the Fountain County Sheriff’s Office.

Most likely, Mr. Hayes didn't even notice how rough his car was riding. :coffee:
