Morgan Freeman Reaction GIF by MOODMAN

F1 is the most ridiculous racing series of them all. It's boring to watch because the overtaking happens on lap 1, then everyone settles in, the race finishes and meh...They make millions, fans go home having seen millionaires racing, and...that's it.
The late Justin Wilson was asked when he came over to IndyCar from F1 why he made the move Stateside; his answer was simply, "I want to win races, not finish middle of the pack."

To many North American fans, that statement rings very true; unlike Indycar, where while we have dominant teams such as Penske & Ganassi, any team on the grid can win (and has - among them: Ed Carpenter Racing, Arrow-McLaren, A.J. Foyt Racing, Rahal-Letterman-Lanigan and Dale Coyne Racing, etc.) whereas in F1 up until a few years ago it was basically "the Lewis Hamilton Show" (with all due respect to the man).

To F1, North America is like a Crown Colony - a place to pillage, steal and plunder from...and if we can snatch a native back to our lands, all the better to them.
To us, though, Formula 1 is akin to a den of thieves, whores, ne'er-do-wells, cowards and scurvy dogs, a place that makes the Mos Eisley Cantina look like a family-friendly place to vist.

Understandable, when you pillage the talent and drag them into a sport where only the richest teams really have a chance...it's not going to have a great reputation, lol. Lewis Hamilton was definitely the king of F1 for a long time, but given that he had the best of everything, it was hardly a surprise. At least in most other competitions the other teams have a shot, there's some parity.

That's the only thing they don't 'cause the last few times an IndyCar driver has gone over the pond (thinking of Cristiano da Matta & Sebastian Bourdais here) they've been back within 18-24 months.

True, basically if you're not Finnish, German or British, don't bother (unless you're that Indian driver I've forgotten the name of who is absolutely terrible and does nothing but wreck, but still somehow has a job). They'll still take the engineers, trainers, etc. though ;)
