1. Do you think inmates (male or female) should have visitation rights to see their child/children? Or do you think they lost that right when they became incarcerated?

2. Do you think allowing these visits have a negative affect on the child/children?

3. Do you think there should be an age restriction on the child/children that can visit? If so, what should the age restriction be?

4. If you were married to an inmate, would you take your child/children to visit?

Please take the time to explain the reason behind your answers.

One of the toughest things for me when I worked at the State Prison was to be on my way out at the end of my shift and to walk by a family with a young child crying about why daddy/uncle/cousin etc, can't come home with them.

I just kept walking. Every time. A couple of times a week at least. For ten years.

Other than that, I have no opinion on the subject.

1. Yes. Maybe someone's in there because they embezzled money to pay for their children's tuition. Sure, what they did way wrong, but you already took away their freedom...

2. It could, but that would really differ from case to case... And it might be worse not to let them see their parent.

3. No... don't really see why there should be.

4. Maybe, looking back at my first answer. It would all depend.

Off topic: proof read that, Jazzy

I just don't find it a particularly salient topic.

I could see maybe revoking their visitation rights if its for violent/sexual assault of some kind.

But other than that..
