Intermittent fasting refers to not eating during a part of the day on a regular basis.

For example, eating only between 1pm and 8pm, and then not eating for the rest of the day and night.

What could be the benefits of doing this?

I suppose it gives the body time to digest and keeps the metabolism active? That's a hard one

I've tried it, I doesn't really help with losing weight faster (if I am on a diet), its just me suffering all day for no reason.

I have a friend who says it does wonders for him, but I found it to be mostly a wash. I would say it can help prevent overeating as simply restricting the time you have to eat food is often enough to prevent adding extra snacks and meals into the day, so some might find it helpful. E.g. adding a 500cal before-bed snack is less impactful if you skipped your 500cal breakfast that day.

When my stomach gets upset on and off throughout the week I will cut it down to one or two meals instead and drink water.

I skip breakfast every day and I have trouble going to bed if I am hungry so thats works better for me. :highfive:
