Personally I see nothing wrong with it as I'm interracial myself and so my child. But I can see why people would want to preserve their heritage.. I think it would be nice to know exactly where I come from instead of being a mut

And on the subject, there's nothing wrong with interracial couples...love is love.

I have no problem with it at all. And I think many people have mixed heritage if you go far enough back....I was born in England to English parents but I have French and Irish ancestors, my great granddad was French.

You can't decide who you love. It just happens. strictly saying that you can only go after your own race is ridiculous. I'm sure this is one of those things almost all of us can agree on here at Off Topix.

It is more deeper than just race to interracial couple. You have different religion, culture, and lifestyle. I'm sure your parents would want to have their son or daughter to be with someone from . I do not against it though.

Yea, I don't care at all because I feel like I don't even have a heritage myself. I'm white I guess, but not really. I just LOOK white. I'm actually a mixture of a lot of things, some of which are definitely not white.



Anyway, for this reason I have no problems with interracial couples at all, but I feel sorry for my boyfriend's best friend. He's white and dating a black girl and his parents actually threw a cow about it and said that they were angry just because she was black. Very sad, but hopefully they'll learn from this not to be so racist. Up until that point, I didn't even realize there were people who were still that racist left in America. Sounds ignorant, but it's how it was for me.

I know a girl who is white and her best friend is asian. He's gay, so they are definitely just friends, yet he cant even be seen with her for fear of what his family will say. If they are walking home from college together, they have to be really careful and if they spot anyone in his family, my friend will walk a few steps behind him.

I think that's awful.

I agree! Sometimes I feel like I'm an alien that's been dropped on this planet, cause I just do not get some people. At all.

Essentially.. people are ignorant and can't accept things different then them. Well.. some people anyway.

That is so true! I deal with that kind of attitude myself almost every day, but for other reasons than this thread is about.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with inter-racial marriages. I think I spelt it right... my best friend as a little girl was black! ok, that's not marriage, but there's nothing wrong with other races.

Race matters nothing at all. (But then again my personal belief is that racism today isn't discrimination against a race, but against a culture)



Culture is the only thing that could matter, but seriously there should be no problem at all.

The example that Alien posted is a sad testament to this world, some people have ridiculous prejudices.
