I just had a job interview for a 2nd job I was looking into. Its a substitute / on call groundskeeper/maintenance position at a school district. (doing landscaping / gardening work / fixing stuff)

The interview went great! The interviewers were very nice and friendly people. They said they will work around my real job too and they dont have a problem with it. I'm pretty sure that means I got the job.

Im sure I'll have to go through all the HR stuff now.. paper work / physical / etc..

Hopefully they will give me lots of work (more than my other 2nd job, which is the same thing just at a different school district).

Congrats

I used to attend the schools in that district too. I'm sure I will run into my old teachers.

Nice one Nebulous, congrats, it will be like a trip down memory lane for you, I hope they are good memories!

Thanks.. I mentioned that I used to go to their schools.. I named off a few teacher names and they were saying things like Oh I know her, she is such a sweet lady. She is now the principal of <insert schools name> and whatnot.

Its always good when you can chit chat in interviews I noticed. The ones that are strictly buisness / they ask the questions then you leave are usually the ones where you dont get the job.

Yeah I always think it's a good sign if it's more like having a chat than a serious interview.

Congrats on this Nebulous!

Awesome! It'd be great if you got the job. Be a lot of work, but if it's bringing in the dough, bake it.

Congratulations, Nebulous! I also think it's great when you can have a bit of a chit-chat during your interviews. It might help you get to know your employers better as well! I hope you get it!

Im going to email the lady there.. I havent heard anything back yet..

Keep at it, because that'll show them you care. They told my brother that they'd contact him, but they never did, so he kept contacting them asking about the job. He eventually got it, because I guess they saw that he really wanted it and would contact them if they wouldn't contact him. Shows somewhat of loyalty, and that you want the job.

Email sent.

They told me in the interview that I got the job (pretty much).. The interview was on thrusday and today is tuesday so that is only 4 buisness days since the interview. Guess Im just being impatient.

You can look at it that way, or you can look at it through the employer's perspective. If you owned your own business and interviewed someone and then just forgot to contact them back, but they took the incentive to contact you anyways, then I'd say that the interviewee who was willing to contact his potential employer back has the highest chances at getting the job.

You shouldn't have to worry if they practically told you that you have the job, plus, your previous experience at your full-time job has to look great to them also. Hopefully it'll turn out and go your way.

Good luck!

Hi,

You have been selected to be added to our sub list. I need to schedule a time for you to come in and complete paperwork. When will you be available to come in?

Thanks,

-edit-

Thanks.. That makes 1 full time job and 2 sub jobs.. I wonder if both school districts try to give me work on the same day.. I suppose I'll have to choose the one that pays more per hour.. (the one Ive already been working for)
