Warning! The following video uses language that may offend. View at your own risk.

Higher res camera? iPhone 4 5MP camera does 720p at 30fps Evo does less than that and it has a 8MP.

Yes, 8MP is higher resolution than 5MP, which bit of that didn't you understand? The 720p HD thing is a completely separate issue. But the Evo also does HD 720P.

Besides that, the video is very much tongue in cheek and in meant to be funny.

8 in theory should indeed be better than 5 but, look at this. I understand it's meant to be a joke, but the camera thing is sort of a lie, if they said has more MPs then fine, but higher res isn't quite right imo.

An example to maybe explain where I'm coming from better:

The iPad has a bigger screen, but the iPhone 4 has a better resolution. Evo has 8MP camera, iPhone 4 has a 5MP camera which produces better quality.

When I posted this thread, I really didn't expect to have anyone come into it and start arguing the toss of which is the better phone.

You can call it whichever way you want, but by definition, 8MP is a higher resolution than 5MP.

I take it you're an iPhone owner? If that's the case, why do you find it necessary to defend a damn phone? After all, it's not like it matters a jot really, it's only a phone after all.

It's plain to anyone that cares to do any research, that there are in fact better alternatives to an iPhone, though that isn't the reason for me posting this thread.

Phones that are not crippled by the lack of Flash, don't force their owners to use the bloated iTunes software and don't exercise as much control over what you can and can't do with the device.

Now, can we please just take the video on face value and have a laugh about it?

I was just pointing something out in the video that I didn't 100% agree with, no harm in that, neither was I arguing which is the better phone, just which has a better camera. You go on about iTunes being bloated but ignore the fact flash is compete shite on mobile devices, in fact, on the desktop as well. Apple have the users best interest in mind when they make their products, they make them safe and secure for the user. And when there is a problem, they do something about it, like yesterday, but HTC would just kill the phone as they have so many other handsets. Of course it's not like you can't jailbreak the iPhone if you want freedom.

It'd rather buy an iPhone where I know I'm going to get a great user experience where I am safe from any major harm, than buy a HTC phone for example, where my battery is going to be crippled by flash and inefficient multitasking as well as having everything I do on my phone logged.

I agree it doesn't really matter, they are just phones & but I just wanted to point out that in this case, more MP doesn't mean the camera is better.

My iPhone is yet to be ordered, finding the best deal takes a bit of time.
