What irrational or 'very unlikely to happen' fears do you have?

I don't have a blender and very sharp knives in my household because I fear I'll somehow (very unlikely) chop off my fingers when preparing food. I also tend to stay away from machinery that could do the same. (I did use one to make the shoe rack but I wouldn't choose it for my occupation to use regularly such machinery because of my fear - even though I'm a careful person when doing such tasks).

Another is drowning in dark water and touching plants under surface when I can't see them.

Elevators in general. I'm claustrophobic and it becomes worse for me if I'm in a overly crowded elevator. Plus I always worry that the elevator will stop in-between floors and I'll be stuck in it. I go out of my way to avoid getting on an elevator. I prefer to take the stairs plus it's good exercise.

Pools. Can't stand them because I fear I might get drown into one.

Being eaten alive while I sleep ..by spiders :(

And a very strong aversion to the number 66+(5+1) :(

The triple six number is the number of man according to the book. But I kinda get that, I don't exactly like that number either for its general association with bad and supernatural things - I don't fear it though.

Heights from third floor onwards.

Getting behind any truck with stuff tied down in the back, even professional harness type restraints. I have to merge over and get away from that truck because I imagine the load coming loose and all the stuff rocketing at my car.

^This. I remember someone who's scared of them too.

I was 8 years old, out at my grandparent's place where I spent summers. The farmhouse is more than 100 years old and has huge 12 foot ceilings.
I had a particular room I stayed in when I was there, and I woke up one morning to find a monstrously large wolf spider hanging from the ceiling, dangling about 1 inch above my face. I could see individual hairs, all 8 of its eyes and its weird mouth-pincer things were moving. I came within a heartbeat of screaming before I realized that if I opened my mouth the hideous, creepy thing could fall INTO my mouth.
I very slowly edged off the bed, then screamed bloody murder.
I changed rooms, never slept in that room again and have panicked at the sight of ANY spider ever since. I can't even see them in pictures or on TV.

This gave me chills just reading it. I, too, am petrified of spiders. :faint:
