Milk is one of the most popular beverages in the United States. We have been told it "does a body good," but some scientific studies have found that contrary to popular belief, drinking milk may do more harm to our bodies than good.

Proponents of milk say calcium and other vitamins and minerals in milk make it an important part of a healthful diet for people of all ages. They argue that milk’s benefits include weight loss, strengthening bones, improved cardiovascular and oral health, cancer prevention, and relief of PMS.

Opponents of milk argue that it contributes to obesity, calcium deficiency, allergies, heart disease, cancer, and other health ailments. They argue that claims regarding milk's benefits are merely advertising campaigns designed to promote dairy sales and that many nutritious alternatives to cow's milk exist.

Where do you stand on the healthiness of drinking milk?

Do you drink a lot of milk?

I very rarely drink milk.

I mostly drink black herbal teas, but if I have a regular tea, then I have a dash of milk.
Sometimes I will have a milky drink at bed time.

My daughter drinks a lot of milk, but I drink harly any.
Though, I'd guess a lot of the opponents are biased vegans. :tired:

I have milk in my coffee and in cereal. Other than that, I drink water all day long.

Oh, yes.

PETA, the same people that thought it was reasonable to do this:

Sometimes I take calcium supplements because I don't think I drink enough milk. Currently out of them, but my multi-vitamin has calcium in it.

I like milk, I don't drink it as much as I use to, but it is on my cereal and tea and stuff like that.
I understand that in some States in the USA like in Florida there is controversy around what is added to milk, but in general milk is good.

I'll honour my distant ancestors who overcame lactose intolerance by drinking milk, thank you very much :P Smooth's probably right.

I don't drink milk. I don't think humans should drink milk. Cows milk were not made for human consumption.
But DrLeftover please.. I may be vegan.
But not all of us support PETA.
I am totally AGAINST[ PETA.
They are a absurd, cruel and over the top organization. PETA gives us a bad name.
I don't support what PETA has done including the two pictures you uploaded.
So don't associate people that are against drinking milk with thinking its reasonable what those people did in those two pictures.
It's not.

and, may i add, not all PETA members or PETA supporters (or the supporters that support the same as PETA) are all the same, and classifying all of them as one under a few like those people in those pictures are inaccurate, as well with any other thing...

I drink milk twice every day (mornings and afternoons), I've been on that routine since childhood. Always heard milk strengthens your body.

I drink a glass of dairy milk every so often; most times, though, I usually find myself pouring a glass of almond milk instead.
