Is going to the movies too expensive?

How much are you willing to pay to see a movie at the cinema?

Will you pay more to see a 3D, 4D, or IMAX movie?

I haven't been since pre-covid times, and even then, yes, it was too expensive! I would restrict myself to Matinee showings only and I bought the rewards membership so I could get a free popcorn and a $1 refill on the commemorative cup, otherwise I simply couldn't afford it!

I imagine it is quite expensive, I last went in 2004.

Yeah. A date to the movies is about 50 bucks for 2 tickets and the snack bar. It's double that with kids. I wish it was cheaper.

Its cheap for me, my local theater has an unlimited plan. $25 a month and I can see all the movies I want. They also have rewards points so I am always earning points and getting free popcorn, drinks, etc. Sometimes I wonder how they stay in business.

Now that's a deal worth having! Have they always had that, or was that one of their "please come back, we're desperate after covid!" type of deals?

It has been like 2 years since i last went to the movies its a lil pricey but what isn't now days.

Yeah I hope they never get rid of it!

Not sure. I moved during the pandemic and started going to this theater after I moved.

Ah, makes sense, and yes, absolutely! That's a deal they need to keep going, because it's an amazing price!

Yep, I've been to the movies twice since I last posted here on Wednesday and I got a free large popcorn last time with my points. :P

Oh I love when theatres of have that!! My sister always made the joke "do you want some popcorn to go with your butter" every time...I loved my butter, lol
Tony makes the same joke. He says I put too much on there but then he eats just as much as I do every time. :P

Try it next time, ask for a couple of those dressing cups, fill them with the butter and don't put it on the popcorn and see what he says. Guaranteed it'll be "eww, not enough butter!" :D
That is brilliant... Not for what you said specifically, but for when I get half way down the popcorn bucket and there is no more butter on the popcorn, I can pour some more on right then without having to go out to the lobby and having to miss some of the movie.

My secrets exposed, lol. I did exactly that :D

Or even better, I sneak in a little jar with a lid on it. Fill it up with the butter/oil stuff and close it up until I need it. Knowing me if I had an open cup of butter, I'd spill it all over myself.
