Is it ever difficult for you to sleep no matter how hard you try?

Lonely Talk To Me GIF by Michelle Porucznik

I sleep when I sleep. I have a sleep disorder and sometimes I'll be awake over 48 hours.

I can fall asleep, and yes, that includes holding coffee. But, staying asleep? It's like my sleep fairy has commitment issues o_O

Every once in awhile I'll have a weird night where I can't fall asleep and it's literally the worst.

Buuuuut generally it's pretty easy for me these days. Hasn't always been but now once I lay down and try, I'll be out quick.

Years of sleeping in different stations and at different times with numerous deployments to disasters that offered limited sleep as a whole have somehow made sleeping very easy for me. I don't need an sort of schedule and as soon as I lay down I'm ready to sleep.

I have a rough time when it comes to sleep. Mixing sleep apnea (meaning I can't breathe well when I'm asleep) and chronic pain that wakes me up regularly, not to mention I have a slight tendency towards nightmares and night terrors from time to time... And staying asleep can be pretty hard. But for me, the hardest part is falling asleep in general. It can take me hours, even when I'm exhausted, to get my brain to shut up.

It can vary for me. There's nights where I can sleep like a baby and then there's nights where I wake up at 2 in the morning and dont fall back to sleep until 7 in the morning.

It varies. Some nights I sleep easy, honestly most of the time these days. Other nights I’m more restless. Mostly on Sunday nights.

I usually take a sleep aide on work nights. Its just a low dose over the counter thing that probably has more of a placebo effect.
