Japan is the third biggest market in the video gaming industry with a value of $29 billion in 2021, accounting for 16% of the global market size.

Why does Japan dominate the video game industry?

Why do they get everything first?

...because they do most of the game development and production?

It's called Keiretsu, which is a xenophobic term for how Japan does business. Microsoft and other non Japanese corporations are viewed as gaijin and often get locked out on exclusives and miss out on other titles. A good example of this is Square Enix who recently locked Microsoft out in favor of Sony.
