In the 1970s, Greg Laurie and a sea of young people descend on sunny Southern California to redefine truth through all means of liberation. Inadvertently, Laurie meets a charismatic street preacher and a pastor who open the doors to a church to a stream of wandering youth. What unfolds is a counterculture movement that becomes the greatest spiritual awakening in American history.

Thoughts on this movie?

Not into religious stuff, but this looks pretty good. Going to see it this weekend.

Here's additional background info on Calvary Church in Costa Mesa, where if I remember correctly, a good chunk of what eventually would be featured in Jesus Revolution...

Calvary Chapel was started by Chuck Smith and has grown to be a notable group of churches in the United States. What do they believe?

I'm personally not really a religious person but this movie looks really good. I've gotta get out to see it soon.

Its probably on TV already, its not in my local theaters any more.

It's still in one of my three local theaters but I think I'll probably end up waiting, think this is the last week.

The theater near me only has like 9 screens so movies are competitive. If it aint moving tix then they'll boot it out of there. If one movie is selling a ton of tix then they'll put it on almost every screen in the building. Lol

Thanks for the heads up on that golden turd. I'll avoid it too. :p

:highfive:

I'm guessing Marvel takes up all the screens every couple months then. I have three theaters around me (one is super fancy) so a movie usually plays at at least one for a bit longer than usual, but we also get lots of limited run movies for a night or two. Perks of living in a college town I guess.
