Has anyone ever heard of or ate at Jimmy John's? I currently work there, and it's a fun experience. We are like a Subway, but better. All of our sandwiches are 8 inch cold cuts, which is disappointing for some, but the fact that you can buy the bread, listen to music, and eat in one of the most cleanest restaurants around is amazing! :)

You'd think they were paying you extra to hype them up like this... :|

:P JK

Never heard of them but I like a good sandwich.

JESUS Christ, I love Jimmy John's. The bread is just so much more flavorful and the texture doesn't make me feel like I just bit into some cardboard. I love, love, love how crunchy the chips are, too, and the sandwiches come out fast, which is nice because you're never there for longer than 5 minutes depending on the time. Of course, there are busy/peak times, but yeah.

Now you made me want some. :beg:
None around here. :(

Meh, I live in an area where white people are the minority (mostly Hispanic around here) so I suppose I'm used to it. :P

They were founded not far from here at the U of I in Champaign-Urbana in the mid- 1980's

My brother knows where the owner lives.

I've driven by several of them.

Never been TO one, nor knowingly ate anything they produce.

And, don't see any reason to change that now.

I have boycotted Jimmy John's, so no, I have no intention of spending one thin dime there.

Why?

Because the first commercial I ever saw for them was entirely in Spanish.

So?

"So?" SO??!? This is still America, for Christ's sake, and I shouldn't have to press one for English, deal with people barely able to speak English when I call for tech support or sit through lists of 12 other languages to select from in order to speak to a person who speaks English. If Jimmy John's wants to make commercials where they speak any language other than English and show them in my country I will not provide them with any of my money to continue to do so. I do not bend to what a bunch of illegals want, including speaking their language in MY country. Boycotting that place is my way of showing my disdain for them making that choice. I will not support any company or service that makes commercials in which any language except English is spoken. I am sick to fucking death of having any and everything Spanish or Mexican being crammed down my throat by the media. Until the invasion from the south is stopped, I will continue to think and act in opposition to that invasion.

That seems like a ridiculously close-minded way of looking at it. You're boycotting a company you've never patronized because of an unwarranted pet peeve? Personally, I feel that's a bit childish, but okay. You do know that this country is home to many kinds of people who speak all different languages. We're a big melting pot. That when we came here, the native people didn't speak English, but rather the true barbarians who stole land and murdered and raped the native people forced them to conform to a way of life they did not need to become accustom to.

It sounds to me like you're taking the side of the "victim" whose native language is much more important and therefore more worthy of being spoken. I imagine you'd say something like "****ing -insert racist slur here-. They should go back to where they came from or learn how to speak ENGLISH!" Just a suggestion, but you may want to rethink the way you view the world and the people in it, as well as your reasons for not wanting to try a quick service restaurant that would more than likely speak to you in English if you actually went and ordered something. This is Amuricuh after all. ;x

i don't do jimmy john's or subway, but not because their commercials are in spanish :nope:

the sandwich is pretty underwhelming all around and it's a franchise. the independent cafes make better food and it's often no more expensive.
