Raw Story: Jon Stewart shreds Fox’s Eric Bolling: ‘F*ck you and all your false patriotism’
Dily Show host Jon Stewart tore into Fox News’ Eric Bolling on Thursday for his hypocritical complaint that President Barack Obama was disrespecting U.S. troops with his “latte salute.”

“F*ck you and all your false patriotism,” Stewart said. “When [George W.] Bush took us to war, any criticism was shouted down as treasonous. But a president you don’t like has the country poised on the same precipice [and] no transgression — no matter how immaterial and ridiculous — is too small to cite as evidence that this president isn’t as American as you are.”

The proof, Stewart argued, was that Bolling groused about Obama during the same episode in which he referred to a female combat pilot from the United Arab Emirates as "boobs on the ground". Stewart also criticized Fox contributor Karl Rove for spewing “liberal epithets” about Obama to Sean Hannity. Overall, Stewart said, the conservative network was acting without principle on the matter.

“Here we’ve got two presidents, both sending the United States to war citing the same legal authorities,” Stewart argued. “Both without any seeming exit strategy and both holding sh*t in their hands while saluting our troops. But in their diseased minds, only one did that because he loved America. The other did it because he hated it.”

While Fox and other networks were wasting airtime worrying about Obama’s coffee, he said, they were neglecting the fact that Republicans and Democrats couldn’t even seem to agree within their respective parties whether Obama had the authority to expand U.S. military operations against the Islamic State terrorist group without congressional approval.

“It is so heartening to see Congress — usually gridlocked along partisan lines — finally reaching across the aisle and coming together to get nothing done,” Stewart said.

...for what its' worth, Jon Stewart is dead-to-rights on this; I've long complained about the Right's faux patriotism and their latest false controversy...and for the record, last time I remembered, because the President - irrespective of party or individual - is the Commander-in-Chief of the United States Military, they are not legally bound to return the salute of a uniformed military person. But if you're going to call Pres. Obama out for his so-called 'latte salute', where were your complaints when Pres. Bush did this below?

...oh wait, I forgot: IOKIYAR, right? :@

"The video has been removed by the user" :(

Representatives from both sides are guilty of a “latte salute” but its only wrong when the other side does it, apparently.

Why do liberals always try to excuse a wrong doing by their hero Ovomit by citing someone else doing the same wrong and expect that to be an excuse? Totally ridiculous and hypocritical.

I am neither a conservative or a liberal, I excuse myself from politics most of the time. So I can say that both sides were guilty of a “latte salute” and have no justification purposes behind it. :P

Hey, if you're going to call out one side for every little supposed failing, it is only right and fair to call out the other side for it too...or does it only apply in one direction, Smooth?

and conservatives thinks that liberals are such hypocrites yet conservatives are way worse...

just like how both republicans and democrats are hypocrites...

it's nothing new...

yet people always try to point the finger at the other while at the same time the person that's pointing the finger is guilty of the same thing...

it's all laughable actually if you think about it...

I'm with Jon Stewart. Every one, no matter what their position is, has screwed up from time to time...that is, if you even consider this a screwing up. xD I don't, personally. The president, while the face of this country, is still a human being and I am not going to rip into them because they had something in their hand, be it a coffee cup, a cell phone, a DOG even. It seems like a ridiculous waste of energy to talk about something so insignificant, especially when Obama is not the first president to have done something like this.

Nice try, Webster, but I am not talking about "every little supposed failing" among all politicians, I am talking about this one specific thing for which liberals are famous.

Sorry, Smooth, but if you're going to call Pres. Obama out for this, it is only fair that we on the Left get to call out Pres. Bush for the same general thing as well....or do conservatives get a pass on everything nowadays?

because they don't like the truth when the truth is going against them...

Bush was wrong for doing it half ass and Obama is wrong for doing it half ass. Bush is just obama light on the social issues and spending and destroying personal freedoms. BUT!!!!! When it comes to our military personal Bush was liked for the most part on how he treated the troops. On the other hand Obama is probably the most despised or at least equal with Clinton and Carter on how much our military hates the man. So the difference is on how our troops feel about it. Those Marines probably took it with a grain of salt when Bush did it because they never got the sense he hated the military. On the other hand when the Marines saw obama do such a thing they probably wanted to tackle the bastard and beat him to a bloody pulp. So neither should have done it but one president should have realized when you are despised and hated by the military no need to ruin moral even further down into the toilet.

When I was on vacation a few weeks ago in California I visited the Carrier Midway Museum and decided to wear one of my several WHO IS JOHN GALT shirts that day. One of the ex navy pilots who served aboard the ship who is now a volunteer on Midway to inform us tourists about life aboard a carrier asked me a question. He said what page do you think we are on if you went by the Atlas Shrugged book? I gave him my answer. He said add a hundred pages for this presidents treatment of our military and add another hundred for just living in California and that sounds about right.

They military hates that man so bad I would not be surprised in whispers if there is talk of a military take over wish among the lower ranks.

just because every president ain't very liked by all citizens and military alike, doesn't mean all military hates a president or presidents... there's always going to be americans that like or even love each president...

and i still come across people that were and still are in the military and didn't agree with bush's wars, and hated him for doing so and putting america and americans in and at jeopardy... oh, and don't get me started on the family members and loved ones that had to deal with loses...

so all and all, you don't really know who likes what president and who agrees with one or the other... it's just respect when it comes down to it... be proud of being president, give respect to the men and women as a true leader and keep your hands free when you get out... after all, you're the president, i'm sure you can easily get someone to carry your dog and coffee... :tired:

Exactly.

and claiming only liberals/conservatives and/or democrats/republicans of do something or not doing something is really hypocritical as well, because all of the above is guilty of doing the same things... (;

Sarah Palin has taken another jibe at President Obama - this time mocking his 'coffee cup' salute.

The commander-in-chief was criticized after White House officials posted a video of him stepping off of Marine One in New York City and saluting waiting Marines while still holding a white cup.

In response Palin, speaking at the Values Voter Summit in Washington D.C, said: 'To the commander -in-chief, we then salute him,' before sarcastically waving the Styrofoam cup over her head.

However she soon became the victim of embarrassment herself when she said the White House is located at '1400 Pennsylvania Avenue.' It is actually at 1600.

Good ol' Palin.

Every president ever will have heart broken family of lost loved in the military who are angry. And that is completely understandable. And there will always be unhappy people who leave the military. But other then that rest is wrong.

When it comes to their most-senior commander, the vets decisively prefer [President] George W. Bush to [President] Obama. Only a third approve of the way Obama is handling his job, and 42 percent of them think he has been a good commander in chief despite his decisions to bring troops home from Iraq, wind down the war in Afghanistan and increase resources for veterans. By contrast, nearly two-thirds of them think Bush, who launched both wars, was a good commander in chief.

Navy losing sailors and SEALs over emphasis on social issues
According to the Washington Times, “A Navy F-18 fighter pilot and former Top Gun instructor is publicly warning admirals that retention is beginning to suffer from the military’s relentless social conditioning programs. Cmdr. Guy Snodgrass said sailors are becoming fed-up with the constant emphasis on social issues — an apparent reference to gays in the military, women in combat and ending sexual harassment.”

“Sailors continue to cite the over-focus on social issues by senior leadership, above and beyond discussions on war fighting — a fact that demoralizes junior and mid-grade officers alike,” Cmdr. Snodgrass wrote last month March on the U.S. Naval Institute website. The Washington Times said “it is a remarkably frank assessment from an upwardly mobile fighter pilot who is due to become the executive officer of a F-18 unit in Japan.”

You have to wonder if this accomplished Naval fighter pilot will still get that prized assignment after his revelations? Well, we reported here how the Chief of the US Coast Guard said the Commander-in-Chief basically threatened senior military leadership to “get on board with his social agenda for the military or retire.” So I guess that’s the answer.http://allenbwest.com/2014/04/navy-losing-sailors-seals-emphasis-social-issues/

not every president went to war or had military MIA, POW or die-in-action from a mission, action or anything that deals with action upon another country, group, tribe, etc.

even though this list is not nearly complete, but some-what accurate in the major conflicts...

To be fair, they're gravitating to the "two wrongs don't make a right" thought process, which is logical. :|
