Here are a few flowers that I took pictures of this summer. They're common wildflowers found in Kentucky.

Butterfly weed--this is in the milkweed family--which is a host plant to Monarch Butterfly larva.

This one is called Sneezeweed--it was used in the past for making snuff. Looks a lot like a black-eyed Susan.

Jewelweed--often found near poison ivy/poison oak. The sap from jewelweed is a home remedy for the 'bite' from these poisonous plants

This is Nebulous-Pye Weed. I don't know anything about this, but I liked the angle of the shot. It shows Momma's back yard.

LOL. Nope. It's the well house and the barn in the distance. We enclosed the well, for safety purposes. The outhouse isn't anywhere near the house (sanitation issues)

I'm from Kentucky and I have never seen any of these flowers lol....except for the last ones! Maybe its a farm thing or a country thing....

However I have seen the last ones! Pretty flowers tho!

I'm surprised you haven't seen the butterfly weed. But the middle two pics are more in the woods, than on the roadside.

I know Nebulous-Pye Weed is everywhere on the side of the Audubon and the West Ky parkway.
