It's happening all around the world, younger and younger kids are getting into drugs and alcohol.

The youngest i have read about is a 3 year old taking bong hits by herself.

What do you think about this and how do you think kids this young get into it?

It is usually caused by irresponsible parents letting something other then themselves be the role model and voice of reason to what's good and bad for their children.

If you as a parent don't stand up and point out the right and wrong things to do in life then someone else will gladly do it for you but you might not like the lessons being taught.

It does help that you don't do the things you claim are wrong and should not be done by kids as in taking illegal drugs for example.

I have to agree with the above response. Parents are becoming less and less aware of what their children are doing these days, along with a lack of discussion with them, causing them to be confused about what is right and what is wrong and getting involved in a lot of illegal things.

Parents need to speak more with their kids, and ensure they are out of harm's way.

Bullshit, if parents aren't aware of it they're either stupid or naive... or both. If they don't do anything about it, they clearly shouldn't have kids to begin with.

Really some people aren't fit to have kids. Goes for all ages. I've seen 16 year old mothers more mature than 30 year olds.

A relative of mine had a kid when she was 15... if she saw him with drugs... he'd be happy to live. Bruised but alive.

I started drinking quite young. My mum used to have parties round our house and I used to have a few drinks.

These days however its out of control. Kids are aquiring alcohol and then hanging round on the streets being violent.

What I do, you see the sober, then the drunk, then the violent, then the end result after they've been arrested. It's really sad to be quite honest.

I know what you mean. the youngest two that I've seen are a 12 year old high on ecstasy and a 14 year old drunker than a drowned mouse. she couldn't even stand on her own and I had to heko her to the bathroom where she nearly peed all over everything. although these two weren't white, that doesn't mean that these problems are only limited to non-white nationalities. it just seems like that because the media exaggerates everything when it's non-whites and minimizes it when it is whites. unless those whites happen to be famous, however... but still, parents need to take more responsibility for their children and take better care of them. these children who arelearning these things are our future! these kids are gonna take care of the world we're living in one day. wouldn't it suck if everyone in government was addicted to crack? ok, in the Canadian government, jackall gets done already, but things would be way worse if every single person in the government was addicted to something illegal.

Those parents that shouldn't have kids are probably drug addicts themselves? People do some stupid things when they're high, I think :/

Its easier for someone who has done drugs to identify it when their kids are on drugs. If a parent has never done a drug in their life, they might not notice the warning signs that their kids are on drugs.

Teenagers can be smart / sneaky.. They can get wasted and sober up before coming home. Some teenagers can get away with doing drugs for years before their parents even figure it out.

Sadly, I started doing drugs by stealing marijuana from my mom's stash. It all progressed from there. Luckily I got myself out of it though. When I had a kid, I figured it was time to grow up. If she ever does drugs when she gets older, I will know and I will put a stop to it.
