Kids, guns and doctors’ rights

Wouldn't be absolutely successful. You don't need weapons to rebel.

Making it all seem normal would be a better way to fend of rebellion. Bit of an impossibility due to the internet though.

China seems to be making a good attempt...

Still, merely asking a question is not wrong. Regardless of the question. There are no stupid questions right?

And look what happened to them...

You don't have to starve yourself... you could just block all government buildings (assuming you have quite a few people).

Anyway, getting slightly off topic...

No. Actually. I think we are dead on topic.

Pun? What pun?

The topic was kids and guns and doctor's rights.

I don't think that a physician, or as I pointed out- a school district, asking a family about a legally owned piece of private property has anything to do with their right to practice their profession, but instead stems from a long standing tradition of political activism, and liberal activism at that, on behalf of their respective professional associations.

Yes, but we got into rebellion for a bit. A generic bit of rebellion.

Anyhow, I do agree. Which makes me ask, how many people are part of those organisations? If this is actually that common.

Taking (what's left of) free speech into account I do believe they have the right to ask the question and you have the right to remain silent.

Disagree. It's called an invasion of privacy. Without just cause, NOBODY has the right to ask me if I own a firearm. You tell me, EE, what just cause a doctor has to ask me or anyone else about firearm ownership.

None.

However if I ask you whether or not you own a gun, is that an invasion of your privacy?

Everyone has the right to at least ask the question... further intrusion in regards to your answer might be rude, but nothing more than that.

None was the correct answer! You or anyone else that does not have just cause to ask me if I own a firearm is guilty of invasion of my privacy.

Are private citizens allowed to own firearms where you are?

Hopefully not.

J/K

But seriously, Reagan destroyed all the infrastructure that we had in place for dealing with the mentally ill.

Are you saying people who own firearms are mentally ill?

Oh no, I'm saying that a lot of the problems with people going on shooting rampages stem from mental illness.

@EE: If private citizens are not allowed to own firearms where you live, then what are you basing your opinions on?

Tell that to Gabrielle Giffords.

What should we tell all the families of the 911 attack? Should we tell them it was caused by a bunch of mentally ill people with firearms?

On my belief that everyone is allowed to question anything.

Making rudeness a crime is just wrong.
