I'm killing the movie industry? How so? I watched an older movie on youtube from the 90's because the one I have resting on my TV as we speak isn't watchable because my VCR doesn't work.

Then get a new VCR. There's no excuse for piracy.

Wow, get a grip, I couldn't careless about the movie industry as far as I am concerned my parents work twice as hard as those who act in a movie while they get paid barely a third as much, I am sorry I am not filthy rich to go out and buy a brand new VCR to watch one little movie.

Yes, but the movie industry isn't dying and I don't have money to feed their obese wallets, and besides what difference does it make whether I watch it on YouTube where it has still yet to have been deleted probably because no one cares or if I buy a new VCR and watch it?

How? Their is still good movies being released and numerous are still tuning in, and don't you dare give the argument Yeah well ... yeah well the older movies were better! because that's not true entirely.

There's a bucketload of crap, though

Fair enough, movies from the past could arguably have a better storytelling however, it wasn't always presented well due to the time. I feel the Dark Knight movie outdid the others by far and that the Halloween Movie (not 2) was superior to the rest the only thing that I can see struggling is that they don't have enough new content to work with which I believe will change soon. I feel the movies world is advancing not growing and one little view on an old youtube video isn't going to kill it and if I already bought the VCR tape than I think I've already done my part for that film.

According to a number of sources, you are allowed to make one back-up copy of your movies incase they break. We can consider this youtube watch, The Draven's copy

That's not a backup.

You can't give me a good reason why I shouldn't do it and quite frankly just because you believe something is wrong nothing make it wrong. You've said that it isn't hurt in the wallet so how will I hurt it by watching a youtube video?

Oh snap.

Anyways, movies can rely solely on movie theater sales. Look how much Avatar has made. If they make zero dollars off their dvd sales they will still be very profitable.

Is that supposed to make any sense?

Think about it this way - if you illegally watch a movie, it's like ripping off everybody involved. If you get somebody in your house to do some work, like a plumber, and don't pay them, is it any different?

Nebulous - People pirate cinematic releases too.

Yes, but once again those below them for example my parents work twice as hard as they do yet get not even close to as much. They deserve to be ripped off! Don't try to teach me, I know how things work.

Think about it this way - Even though we are ripping them off they still work alot less and make alot more than us. We might be ripping them off but at the end they still get more than they deserve.

Neither do you so don't act like you know when you have no idea either, but it doesn't matter they still make millions of dollars, no amount of activity that they do could be worth that much.
