What kitchen gadget or appliance could you not live without?

Fridge... Keeps my beer cold

Well a fridge is pretty much a static part of any kitchen.

As for trivial novelty gadgets, I would say my george foreman grill.

Not a 'must have' by any means, but an egg-slicer is a small, handy time saver for me when I want a sliced or chopped hard-boiled egg.
This metal-framed one is dishwasher safe. :)

My Kitchen Aid Mixer

Brod and Taylor Bread proofing box

Cuisinart Ice cream maker

Zojirushi rice cooker

Assorted crockpots

Electric knife

I have to agree, the rice cooker is one of the few kitchen gadgets I couldn’t live without. It’s a great one....I have the Tiger, the Japanese-made model, and it’s fantastic. So, the rice cooker is definitely a must for me!

That's a lot of nifty gadgets! The only one I have on that list is the Kitchen Aid Mixer....one that I've been using since about the 70's.

I do use a rice cooker, but not one of the upgraded more modern ones. A pint-sized, very plain one that my son inherited from a Japanese student while he was in college. We don't eat great amounts of rice & this one is still tickin'.

Hope that I haven't jinxed it by saying some nice about it.

Pampered Chef bottle opener, air fryer, and microwave.

A nice knife. I don't do a lot of cooking, but I'd be lost without a sharp, sturdy knife.

I can't say considering the fact that I was so determined NOT to have my Mom's kitchen of gadgets, that I ended up with hers, (she got me the same gadgets she has) mine and my GGM's 1950s kitchen as I inherited her pots and pans as well.

She had a few gadgets that my husband and I had to Google but her old pans and pots are better than the ones my Mom and I brought for ourselves.

I am going to get the missing pieces and pans to this set off eBay but the original set is super expensive on there because they are just that good. Some of mine are missing lids and handles so I'll get the missing parts and then rebuild the pot handles since they were originally made of wood.

Some of the new gadget 'inventions' are quite remarkable IMO; like my air-fryer & Instant Pot. But you are right, some things......"they just don't make 'em like they usta"! I had one of those great old-style Osterizer blenders for eons & then a few years ago they came out with a new bigger, better model & I sent my old one off to a thrift store. I have forever regretted that decision; I was looking around to see if I could 'reasonably' reverse that & see that Amazon is selling my new-style Oster blender for around $50 & the old-style that I liked so much better for about $130.
And, yes, I still have some of that old stainless steel cookware that was so common in the olden days.....totally the best!!

The ones you have, are they the copper bottom pots?

The ones I inherited from my GGM were called "Presto Pride" and they are still good.

The ones I have are copper-bottom, but not the 'famous' Revere ware. The brand name on them is Prudential & they are triple-clad. Probably '50s or 60s vintage. I think that yours sound pretty unique because of the wooden handles. The handles on mine are a sturdy plastic, but have not fared well in the dishwasher (when I didn't know any better ). The handles are still all together but have lost their glossy appearance & are permanently dulled; otherwise the pots & pans are good-as-new. ;)
