I am currently shopping around for a new laptop. I don't want a refurbished or used one. I'm getting very confused with all the different ones available.

I need some help please!

Can you suggest a good but inexpensive laptop?

Honestly, I would get the best I could that was within my price range. If you have $600 to spend on a laptop, spend it. The laptops that are $600 or relatively close will be similar enough in their specs to not make a difference.

What do you need to do on it?

This laptop would be used to store ads that my clients send me. The ad specs are 1920 x 1080. These files right now are taking up way too much space on my ancient computer.

You really should give us a price range, Jazzy. Inexpensive is a bit vague.

Sorry about that. I was hoping to get a decent one in the $300 - $400 price range.

*On a side note: My friend told me to look at the chromebook. Have any of you heard of this or do you have one?

If that's all you're gonna use it for, wouldn't it be better (cheaper) to just buy an external hard drive?

That should definitely be doable. In your case that might even buy you something faster (etc.) than your current computer

Were you looking to buy online or from some local store?

Have heard of it. Not sure if I'd recommend it given your internet.

Toshiba usually ranks pretty high especially for the price range you mentioned: http://www.toshibadi...?page=satellite

I've had the Satellite for years and it's been very reliable. The only thing is that it gets slow at times. The system isn't bad by any means. The graphics card is just weak, so don't expect it to handle anything graphic-intensive: http://www.toshibadi...atcompare-popup

Thank you so very much. I will definitely check out the Toshiba C870.

@EE: I have a computer store here. I'd rather buy from the store where I can see and touch what I'm buying.

Would they happen to have a site?

(And would you be willing to give us the link? I probably wouldn't.)

The link(s) are in Fatal Dawn's post.

That's your local store's site? o.O

Sorry, I misunderstood your question. I don't feel it necessary to post the link to my local store.
