Latest version of PHP

A question for forum administrators:
Do you usually have the latest version of php right away or do you wait a bit?

Not really too important to me. I think the latest version of php is 8.2? We're using 7.x.x right now, the forum works just fine. Our host does have the latest version available though. I think some add-ons will stop working with php 8+ so I haven't switched over yet. I'd need to look into it more in detail beforehand.

We run at 7.4. I've tried all versions above that and never found any difference.

My forum runs on 8.0 and all is working fine, I don't like to use bleeding-edge software, typically, I wait for it to be stable and well-tested before upgrading. 8 is where I feel comfortable right now, it works well for our needs

Yeah I go on forums that claim to be on php 8+ and they seem the same as ones that are still on 7+.
