should we hold the police at a higher standard? should they be put in jail and/or punished the same way as everyone else that don't hold a badge? should cops be fired on spot if he/she is busted, caught or found guilty of a crime? do you think law enforcement gets away too easily and lightly? do you think a lot of cops are above the law and do and say whatever they please on the daily basis?

explain your answers and thoughts. (;

the history of policing in america

99% of police brutality cases go uninvestigated
there are few lawyers in the united states who will even take a case against police that doesn't involve permanent disability or wrongful death, no matter how far over the line they were.

I think the world has seen an increase all over the world with police violating the right of citizens, police should be held to account for all their action, to protect and to serve are thrown out the window a lot of the times.

St. Petersburg Police cutting up homeless tents

The State cannot deprive a person of their life, liberty or property without due process. In this case, the police are destroying personal property without due process. Even if the homeless persons were setting up camp in a place where it was not allowed, you can't just destroy their personal property as a response. This is an insane and blatant disregard for property and the due process that is supposed to be guaranteed by our Constitution.

have you noticed that a handful of police abuse the laws themselves. one cop got busted for stealing seized drugs in an evidence room, another got busted for possesing child porn. the list goes on and on

here's an exceptionally ugly one a friend just posted. don't know the details yet.

it's always been that way. they rarely even get everything they bust into the evidence room. the austin cops took almost a quarter ounce of weed from me that got booked in as a gram and a half. a friend told me about some poundage that he got busted with and only a quarter pound made it into the property room.

when i was a kid, there was a famous scandal at the summerdale precinct in chicago where the cops were part of a burglary ring , warehousing and fencing stolen goods right from the station house.

Lot of this videos are really good exposing bad cops. I am no fan anonymous and find them dangerous and really not fighting for real freedom. But I do agree with them on this topic except for two critical points. First they want to give and force the banks with these homes with nobody in them to the homeless. That would mean the banks who own them would just need to take a loss and suck it up. No thats wrong thinking. Then of course we the people would have to pay for the water, the power, the up keep of these homes on tax payer money. Then they are complaining about the cut in food stamps. It never should have the federal governments job to feed people in the first place. This is supposed to be a state by state issue to let the people decide how they want to help the homeless.

you are paying for the homeless to be housed in the prison camps, so either or, "your" tax money is paying for the homeless and for them to be sheltered and for them to eat and the water they use to bathe... but the difference is that you agree that the homeless should be locked up and forgotten... i can't wait until this gets worse, and that you fall on hard times and get locked up for being poor/homeless... until then, keep being heartless and ignorant...

I dont agree with either scenario so I dont want my tax dollars going to prison camps or government stealing houses and then the people paying for that either. I dont want the federal government in the entitlement business period. Get government to Give incentives for people to open up privately owned shelters and soup kitchens.

So, you're against people getting government grants/help to open and run soup kitchens and shelters?

And you're also against the people that receive money to take in orphans...

Just keep posting so everyone knows where you stand...
